As a vending route operator for many years, Lauri Logue gained enormous Bulk Vending experience. During this period, Lauri visualized the potential that awaited her on the supply side of the Bulk Vending industry, setting goals to one day own and operate the most innovative vending supply company the industry had ever seen. In 1991, Lauri’s dream materialized; Brand Vending Supply was born. As the newest and youngest in an established industry, Lauri launched her then new company with an industry first: “Temporary Tattoos”, Lauri’s determination and innovation quickly set the pace for creativity and innovation. In 1999, Dax Logue joined Lauri as a partner and Director of product development.
Lauri and Dax realized early on that to be number one in the Bulk Vending industry they must make some dramatic changes to their company. First, by bringing on Craig Goodman as lead sales they were able to establish a formidable outcall sales program. Once they had established and grown their sales presence they turned to expanding their product offerings. Already dominating the “Flat Vending” side of bulk vending the natural expansion was capsule novelty items. Launching out as early as 2003 with capsule toys Brand was on its way to being a leader with full service Bulk supply.
Armed with an understanding that today consumers want “What’s new” Brand adopted a no copy, first to market strategy. This required rethinking the overused model of taking a Disney or Nickelodeon item and configuring it for a capsule. Brand knew if it was to gain prominence in a niche industry it had to be different and produce different products. Toys and novelties designed exclusively for capsules and vending machines was the quest. Building on relationships with operators and using their feedback, Brand was able to quickly establish itself as the company that could help the operator. “Produce products that kids really wanted”.
In April 2006, Brands TEAM launched then an unknown item under the banner “Mania”. After a quick start in sales, Brand realized they may be on to something big. Traditionally a series in Bulk vending has a life of no more than a year; this “Mania” would prove this trend could be changed. Today 2011, “Mania” now a full line of Toys marketed under the rebranded name of Sqwishland is not only a number one seller in Vending, but also leads with one of the most popular internet games on the web, Sqwishland.com
